Community Wellness Counselor

Role

This position has responsibility for helping students, employees, and parents in enhancing physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. This is achieved through one-to-one counseling, facilitated small-group meetings, and workshops and programming for larger audiences.

Job description

participate with the Dean’s office and Boarding Head in planning and delivering Orientation
provide individual counseling support Mon-Fri for students and faculty, both at school and online
plan and execute parent programming once per month, online or at school
plan and execute employee programming once per marking period, online or at school
serve as guest lecturer in 9th and 10th grade Core classes
plan and execute opt-in workshops for all grades regarding sexuality/relationships/wellness, once per month per grade with an option for boarding-only workshops
provide occasional mindfulness/relaxation opportunities before school, events, or classes
collaborate with the Dean’s office and HOS to develop workshops in belonging and feeling included and programming, including a leadership role in non-traditional education day(s)
develop and facilitate mediation practice for both students and employees
co-lead Trips, possibly with a wellness focus
co-lead Peer Mentors with school psychologist
attend Student Support Team meetings
attend Administrative Council as needed
serve on Child Protection team
participate in crisis management
other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Master’s degree or equivalent in psychology/counseling psychology
Three years or more clinical and supervised clinical experience
Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills
Fluency in English; working fluency in Italian
Relevant work experience with adolescents and parents
Demonstrated experience in designing and executing dynamic and effective programming

Admissions Coordinator

Reports to: Director of Admissions

Main responsibilities

The Admissions Coordinator will support the Associate Directors of Admissions for Day and Boarding.

This includes the following:

Act as a fi rst and continual point of contact for prospective day and boarding families from inquiry through to the enrollment of new students
Organize and conduct visits for prospective parents
Be responsible for fielding, filtering, and effectively responding to inquiries received via telephone and email
Arrange and administer online academic testing as appropriate
Maintain accurate records on school’s Management Information System (MIS), OPEN APPLY
Participate in initiatives to drive student recruitment and enrollment opportunities, including attending events and international schools fairs to recruit new students
Work diligently in a team approach towards set student number targets;

This person should be/have:

Excellent computer skills and familiarization with MIS, such as Open Apply
Self-motivated, fl exible, and adaptable
Proficient communicator, both oral and written in English and Italian. A third language (Chinese, Russian, French, or Spanish) is recommended
Excellent organizational skills
Good team player within a multifunctional team

Residential Assistant

Residential Assistant - Academic Year 2023/2024

We are currently seeking a Residential Assistant. The role is to help to create a supportive community in the boarding dormitory, as well as perform additional responsibilities for the school. RAs reinforce safety and order within their dorm, mentor boarders as they adjust to and manage independent living, support academic progress and personal growth, and promote a positive atmosphere. In addition to their residential role, RAs also serve a primary function in the school's operation (e.g., lab assistant, library, coaching, limited teaching, Writing Center, special projects).

General Responsibilities:

On duty twice a week, 6 pm-11:30 pm
On duty two weekends a month, from Friday 5pm thru Sunday 11:30 pm
Orientation duties, accompaniment to appointments and other residential duties as assigned.
Other responsibilities assigned by Head of School, approximately 25 hours/week
