Legends and memory from antiquity to Garibaldi's defense of the Roman Republic

A walking tour

We will begin and end our walk at the Church of San Pietro in Montorio. From there, we will walk up past the Acqua Paola to the equestrian statue of Garibaldi, then via the Porta San Pancrazio and the Vascello to the entrance to the Doria Pamphilj gardens (memorial to the Villa Corsini). Returning to the Porta San Pancrazio, if there is time, we will briefly visit the Museo della Republica Romana e della Memoria Garibaldina, inside the tower, in order to se the multi-media show of the defence of the Roman Republic. Then, descending via the Villa Spada and Fascist war memorial to the Ragazzi of '49, we will finish at San Pietro in Montorio with a visit of Bramante's Tempietto.

 

Meeting place: Chiesa San Pietro in Montorio 9:45am

Tickets : 20 euros adults and 15 euros kids - entrance fees are additional

Proceeds benefit PA/student charitable initiatives.
