On this walk, we will look at much more contemporary history in viewing the (de/re)construction of Rome under the Fascist period by looking at the Foro Italico.

Using examples of Fascist architecture to explore its ideology and the manipulation of Roman history for propaganda, we will also discuss the schools of thought and political debate over the questions of what to do with remnants of the Fascist era and how a society deals with the more divisive and difficult periods in its past.
